United Way has established a clear focus on 3 core areas: Education, Income, and Health and Wellness.  The programs we fund and the partnerships we build in these areas are designed to ensure that children reach their potential through quality education, individuals attain financial stability and independence, and children and adults achieve and maintain good health.

Our investment in these areas extends beyond the funds generated in the annual Campaign.  In 2008-2009, we generated $17.2 million in resources: $14.2 million in Campaign pledges, and $3 million in grant revenues guided by United Way and administered by nonprofit health and human service agencies in the community.

More than $14.7 million of those dollars were returned back to the community last year through program investments, donor designated contributions, grant programs, and United Way initiatives.
